January 28th, 2007
01:55 pm - Last couple of days Friday: Started off at Bar Mosko, with Joe, Dan, Ruth, Branka and scores of other Edexcel workers. Managed to escape after a couple of pints and headed to the Bountiful Cow for Jeremy's leaving do with Dan. There I met up with Drew, Tom, Kelly, Gerardo. Later Maria, Hanane, Sarah, Johann and Shahzad joined us. When that pub closed we went back to Bar Mosko, and stayed there till they kicked us out at 12, when we headed onto O Neills, and stayed till 1:30. Nightbus home. Bed at 4.
Saturday: Woke up at 10, for football training at 11. Was a bit late, oops. Still, I played quite well and scored the winning goal. Went to the Bailey afterwards for a lemonade, then onto the Big Red to meet Nicola at around 3. Had a burger and chips, mmm, drank beer and played pool. Dan Drew Sarah and Gerardo all joined us over the course of the day. Headed down to the (new) Intrepid Fox at 10ish, and stayed there drinking with Joe, Kirsty and some goths until 2am. Nightbus home. Bed at 4.
Both nights were AMAZING.

10:12 am - Gooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllll! We won the football 5-0!! I scored twice, woo! Reckon I got Man Of The Match for a second game running too ;)
In other news, it's funny how songs can be so fitting..
"I know that you went straight to someone else While I worked through all this sh*t here by myself And I think that you should spend some time alone But if you won't, then you won't ..and I will consider you gone"

right, back to 'work' :)

07:34 pm - Update Last few nights:
Thursday 18th:
Went to Waxy O Connors with Nicola Dan and Drew, saw Jaime and his brother there. Had 3 or 4 pints then went home in the wind and rain.
Friday 19th:
Left work at 6, had a few drinks in Bar Mosko, Sarah (B) bought me a drink for being 'such a good listener' when she was talking about her dead cat. Strange. Did a picture quiz which went around the pub - distorted pictures of random celebrities. Also there were Drew Dan Sarah (L) Branka Vanda Nicola Tom Gerardo Robyn James Liam and blatantly loadsa others i cant remember. It was pretty packed but cool. Then we went to The White Hart via 'the sausage men' for another couple of pints. Me and Tom went off to Egg at midnight for Danny's birthday, but there was a huge queue so we gave up and went home.
Saturday 20th:
No football training, so woke up at midday. Met up with Jules, Gregg, Hannah and Jen in Carnaby Street, went shopping and ate the nicest cake ever! Then onto the Big Red where Libby joined us. Pool and drinkage and funny conversation until 8:24 when Jules and Gregg got a taxi back to the station. Went with Libby to Drew's birthday party in Upper Street, where Andy Jenkinson, Alistair, Martin Steve and Kelly were, and some random boys and girls that Drew knew. A bottle of wine between me and Lib later, and we headed off to Indie night (yes..) at the Underworld. Another bottle of wine between us, talking and dancing. So good. Came back on the nightbus at 4am, and talked & played Street Fighter 2 with Joe Kirsty and Lauren till 8am. Got 4 hours sleep and up at midday.
Sunday 21st:
Went to Greenwich with Joe Kirsty and Lauren for an allday breakfast and the NICEST smoothie ever from possible the best smoothie shop ever. Walked back along the thames, went to our private beach and lake for a bit, then came home and sorted out the kitchen.
Current thoughts:
Amsterdam. Ireland. Football tomorrow. Hannah Spearitt. Sleep.

04:02 am - .. Nixi was right.. I've been putting a brave face on the break up and it's only now, a couple of days later, (coupled with some blistering arguemnts) when it's starting to mess with my head. It's strange that only a week ago I was on top of the world, and I finally had real self belief and confidence. Life's a funny thing.
Still, you know me, I don't stay down for long, and I'm already thinking about the good bits. We had some amazing times, those memories will always be great. I made a few mistakes in it, which she really helped me with, bless her - stuff in my head resident from my last serious relationship 3 years ago - so my next relationship won't suffer from the same pitfalls, (at least from my side.. haha). In fact shes influenced me a hell of a lot, I'm a better person now than I was before.
Plus it's always good to meet someone with my twisted sense of humour, other than the people from Monty Python, Chris Morris and the writers of The Mighty Boosh. It wasn't meant to be, but I hope we can stay friends :)

11:29 pm - Post Christmas update Hope everyone had a good Christmas!
Christmas Eve: Woke up and went straight to Wimbledon for some last minute shopping (and wrapping), met up with Natalie and her family for Panto which was really really good - my first ever! I thought it'd be aimed at the kids but it was pretty adult humour at times. Went back on the tube and straight to Midnight Mass with my family back in Essex.
Christmas Day: Opened presents, then had Auntie Pennie and her boyfriend over (as all my grandparents are sadly no more) for Christmas lunch.
I got: Digicam + Memory Card New Top, Blazer and Scarf Basketball hoop (Im such a kid at heart) Plus CDs, DVDs, chocolate... and some other useful stuff.
Boxing Day: Was too ill to do the morning run :'( so rested in and headed 2 hours across london to Natalie's for Boxing Day lunch and games with her family. Was wicked.
And now it's preparing for New Years Eve! Gotta save my money as I'm running out too quickly..

11:43 pm - Moving in waves... The last few days have been very up and down:
Wednesday 20th: Busy day at work, then went to Soho with Alistair (record shopping) and Natasha (on her way to a party). Met up with Alice and Anna.. known them for almost 6 years now, scary! Nina and Ally joined us and we had a nice chilled evening :)
Thursday 21st: Woke up feeling SHITE. And i mean shite. Boiling hot, the shivers, no energy, headache, blocked up nose, painful & parched throat. Didn't leave the house all day, spent all day in bed :( Probably was what Natalie had, seeing as I spent all Sunday with her when she was ill, which meant it's probably Scarletina/fever. Had some important work to do aswell, so spent some time on the phone to Branka asking her to cover for me, which she did without any complaints :)
Friday 22nd: Felt a little better, but still spent all day in the house. More time in the lounge than the bed though, so got to watch some amazing TV, not least CRYSTAL MAZE, NEIGHBOURS, GLADIATORS and GHOST HUNTING WITH GIRLS ALOUD!
Saturday 23rd: Woke up early, about 12, threw on some warm clothes and popped out to Asda to get lots and lots of medication - paracetamol, lempsip, lockets, halls extra strong.. erm and a whole ready cooked chicken, which i could only eat a bit of :( Got myself washed and dressed again, and collected a (better) Natalie from her house and took her for her suprise Christmas present part 1. I think she guessed it was a musical, but she has no idea it was Les Miserables, the one musical (other than Phantom) that she hasnt seen and really wanted to see. Her face just lit up when we walked to the theatre and stepped inside, made it all worthwhile :). The show itself was AMAZING. Best musical I've ever seen, it had it all, a really good lead role, brilliant music, really emotional scenes and ..um.. the gay one from S Club 7. But yeah, an amazing night, Natalie said she really enjoyed it and couldnt stop thanking me :D aww.
Tomorrow is last minute shopping and PANTO! and then back to parents for midnight mass, ace.
In other news, I can't stop listening to 'Old' by Machine Head. That riff is quality.

12:39 am - Last few days God my throat is bad, I just left a voicemail for Natalie [who has scarlet fever :(] and I could hardly talk.. sounded literally liek a frog. Will probably give her the fright of her life!
Anyway, update:
Friday 15th: Left work at 6:00, met up with Nick, Jo, Tom, Natasha, Funk (Glenn), Ann, Drew, Nicola, Gerado, some French girl and Alvaro at the Shakespeares Head and had a few drinks. Grabbed a sausage roll for dinner then caught the tube up to Camden with Nick to meet Libby, Maria and Raf. After a quick sambuca shot we moved onto the Electric Ballroom for Joe's birthday party, where we met up with Kirsty, Liam, Lauren and the gang. Literally danced all night. Left at 3am, dropped my phone in a puddle, and got a taxi home. Great night :).
Saturday 16th: Woke up early-ish & got the tube to Victoria Apollo Theatre to book realy good seats to see Wicked with Natalie on the Monday, as the last time we saw it we were in shabby seats. Bought a sandwich for lunch and headed back. Didn't do much the rest of the day until about 11:00pm, when I went to a rockabilly Leicester Square club called Madame JoJos with Natalie. Had to queue for an hour and a half, but it was worth it as the club was really cool. Spent most the night doing silly dances with Natz. Ooh, and I found a ring on the floor! Proper silver :) We got the nightbus home at 3:23, and ended up going to sleep at 5:30am.
Sunday 17th: Woke up and went to Nattie's for Sunday Lunch, except she was coming down with scarlet fever, and I spent most my time there looking after her and trying to take her mind off it. I don't think I did much but she said it really helped so that's good :) :$
Monday 18th: Natalie was too ill to see Wicked, so after waiting outside the Apollo, and asking literally everyone, I couldn't sell the tickets. Luckily my sister wanted to go so she came with me. It was great :)
Tuesday 19th: It was our second work Christmas party today, in Pagliaccis, Holborn.. except it wasn't great. The food and drink service was appauling, the food itself was hit and miss, and most people left early. Ah well. Oh, and the trains were f*cked on the way back, so I ended up walking to Bank station with Delroy, via MAcDonalds and Tescos of course ;)
night night x

December 14th, 2006
11:50 pm - what an evening It was our Christmas lunch today, which = free booze. And when you start at midday that's bad. Luckily we had some sobering news around 3:00 - we haven't got the contract for the next series of NCT exams, so we're all pretty much out of a job by October. Good times. Nevertheless we carried on, drinking champagne and vodka all night. Mostly hang out with Branka, but also with Abi, Louise, Dan and the gang. Ali was there at the start, I miss her. There was also a girl there with a colinder on her head. Strange.
Tomorrow is alternative night at the Electric Ballroom. (Not the Underworld as I said yesterday). Should be good. Should be even better than tonight :)
<3 less than jake. ahem.

12:21 am - Christmas time, mistletoe and (bottles of) wine Hola. I'm getting quite slack at updating, so I'm gonna have to write longer entries to capture everything ive done. Starting with this one.
Friday 8th: Went out for a few drinks with Tom, Drew, Peter, Alistair and Kelly, before heading to Henry's to speak to Nina for a little bit. Then headed back to Wimbledon to see Natalie as she was feeling ill. Crashed the night, had a good nights sleep!
Saturday 9th: Left Natalie's at 2, home by 3. The footie team had drinks but I realised I didn't have any of the partakers phone numbers.. after all we arrange everything by email. So I didn't go to that. Had a nice relaxing bath, and changed my clothes before heading back to Wimbledon. Got turned away from Wetherspoons for not wearing shoes (!!!) so instead went to Edwards bar, which was packed full of blokes in full suits on the pull. Had a bottle of wine though and some Blue Lagoon cocktail with Kat and Natz before giving up on finding a decent place and just going home to watch TV instead. Albeit rather drunk.
Sunday 10th: Had sunday lunch at around 2, delicious as usual! Spent the rest of the day with Natalie, had a long bubbly bath in the afternoon :D
Monday 11th: Played EasyNet (http://www.easynet.net/) at football in the London 5 a side league. I scored first and Matt scored as we ran out 2-0 winners. A great way to end the year. My goal was amazing, I found space down the left wing, charged towards goal, before 2 defenders tried to cut me off. I darted inside them and as they were turning I shot into the near corner, on the blind side of the keeper. Ace!
Tuesday 12th: Was Natasha's birthday so had a quick drink with her before heading home to Essex. Had a drink with my mum and her mates in The Bull, then ran home to a salmon dinner and a Christmas tree that needed decorating. I did a red and gold theme, wish I'd taken a photo, it looked well pretty. Got a lift back with my dad. Aww :)
Wednesday 13th: Took the day off work and spent the afternoon Christmas shopping with Natalie in Kingston. She spent rather a lot :) Some on me but the present's a secret till Saturday 23rd - present exchange day!
Plans for the next few days:
Thursday 14th: Got our TOSCA Christmas Party at Midday at Sway in Covent Garden. Free food and drink? Yes please :)
Friday 15th: Drinks with Natasha, Libby, Maria, Tom, Drew, Alistair and the gang before moving onto Camden for Joe's birthday at the Underworld and then The Electric Ballroom for rock/alternative night.
Saturday 16th: Was going to Wetherspoons (with shoes this time!) in the evening but that's fallen through so I'm probably gonna head into London (hang on, I live in London now..), central London i mean, and go drinking and dancing with whoever's about.
Right, bedtime now. Well, after I get my clothes out the (seemingly permenantly in use) washing machine.
Note to self: don't put pictures of me in a bath as my default on myspace again, far too much hassle from randoms. I have a private profile for a reason.

11:36 am - Monday morning update Rah, haven't updated for a while so here goes:
Monday 27th - Lost football 1-0 despite clearly being the better team. Matt and Si missed a couple of good chances, if we'd have put them away we'd have got something out the game like we deserved.
Tuesday 28th - Human Resources tried to take my pay rise away, so I made a big thign of it, got the Senior Manager invovled, which put them in their place. Stingy b*stards.
Wednesday 29th - Went for a meal with Natalie and the folks in the ever-classy Pizza Hut. Ice cream factory and all, yum!
Thursday 30th - Played pool at lunchtime, Dan and I (ENGLAND) beat Alvaro and Vanda (IBERIA) 3-0. Quality.
Friday 1st - Met up with Tom, Natasha and Alvaro in the evening and headed to Los Locos, a spanish bar in Covent Garden, where Dan, Nick, Del and Alberto were there. Later 4 of Natasha's friends turned up, all female, all foreign language speaking, so most the night was spent talking in non english. Or for me, I spent most the time speaking GCSE French with Tom. "As tu des freres ou des soeurs?" etc etc.
Saturday 2nd - Went out with Natalie and Nicole in the evening to *cough* Wetherspoons in Wimbledon, preceeded by a delicious Nandos meal. Drank an entire bottle of Savignon Blanc before finishing the night with 2 black Sambucas and a Kronenberg. Went to bed about 3.
Sunday 3rd - Got about 7 hours sleep but felt ok for most the day. Had Sunday lunch, watched Slipper and the Rose before heading home to THE INTERNET AT HOME! woooooooooo

01:28 pm - bloated I just went to the Covent Garden O Neills bar for lunch. I had a burger and chips and now I feel totally bloated and a little sick.
Just thought I'd let you all know.

11:54 am - Busy weekend ahead Well another working week is almost over, and I've quite enjoyed it.
Tonight I'm off to Lauren's birthday party, which was going to be in Ben Crouches but is now just the Electric Ballroom in Camden. Gonna go for a few drinks after work with some friends, then head up to Camden around 9ish to meet Natalie John and Maria, then meet Joe Kirsty Lauren and everyone else around 10 ish. Partying till the early hours as usual :D
Tomorrow my mate Andy is coming down from Manchester, so he'll probably drop his stuff off at my house and go sight seeing during the day. In the evening Nick and Drew are gonna come out and we'll do some catching up, laughing and drinking before probably ending up in the LA2 club.
Sunday is Natalie's mum's birthday, I've got her a nice present for all the Sunday lunches she's cooked me :) I'll try not to be too hungover for it.
*still* haven't got the internet at home yet, haven't been on MSN for about 2 weeks now. Very annoying.
Lunchtime now. Scampi and chips here we come wooooooooooooo

Well things are going really well at the moment, I found out I got the job, I got a considerable payrise too, my new house is great, things with the girlfriend are great, ive lost a bit of weight, bought some ace new t shirts and belts, fixed my computer, and did really well at a crossword last night!
Happy Robbie.

03:17 pm - Interview roundup Well yesterday I had my interview for the two jobs I'm (re)applying for after the restructure. It was supposed to last 30 mins but ended up being 50 mins with some additional chatting we did afterwards. I think it went well. I used some good examples, and she said she was looking for people to "take the business forward technically", which she said suited my abilities. So crossed fingers.
We're supposed to find out today whether we got the jobs but its 3 o clock and nothing heard yet. We'll probably be told tomorrow at this rate. PUT US OUT OUR MISERY!
Aside from that I've been busy building and fixing up a computer for a work colleague. She came round last night to pick it up and gave me £30 and 6 beers on top of the computer payment for my efforts! So I had a beer yesterday while watching American 9 ball pool and Scuzz TV with my housemate Joe who'd also had an interview. Was nice and chilled.
Oh, and work were selling ice creams for 10p in the canteen today! If I wasn't going for a meal tonight I'd take full advantage..!

November 13th, 2006
05:36 pm - Monday Move Well the Less Than Jake gig was amazing, The Living End were fantastic too. I met Nick Libby Jess and Maria in Wetherspoons at 6, had a couple of drinks and dinner, then headed off into the Brixton Academy. A couple of drinks and bands later and we all went down to the front for LTJ. I was literally singing every word out loud the whole way through, whilst in the pit. Libby lost her voice afterwards which was quite funny.
Sunday I finished my workmate's computer and headed down to Natalie's for Sunday lunch. Mmmmm.
Today was the first day at my new office, and I got in early to find I have a date for my interview - tomorrow!! It's tomorrow afternoon though thank god. I'm not a morning person. I went through my interview with Louise who's the interview queen, and she said my examples were 'perfect', and as long as I tell them everything I need to, I'll breeze it.
Work was spent going across 3 different floors talking to 6 different colleagues to try and sort out the latest database release on time. It eventually was finished at 3pm, but that was a bit too late and we've lost half a day to work with it.
I'm off home now to prepare more for my interview and give Sarah her computer back. And maybe play San Andreas a bit more..

November 10th, 2006
11:23 am - Thursday Capers / Weekend Plan Most of yesterday at work was spent hoping that the interview invitation didn't come through.. luckily it didn't, so I have a free Friday and an extra few days to prepare. Football isn't on this Monday evening as it's still pre-season, so I'll have then to prepare aswell.
Yesterday evening I met up with Drew and Tom and played a few games of pool in the Springbok, before me and Drew headed off to The Rampage for a cheeky beer or two. Headed back home at 9 to watch that Aztec program on Channel 4 which looked amazing.. alas it was quite disappointing, less focus on the Aztecs and more on re-enacting the events in today's world. Worst example: "Cortes rode into Mexico on a huge black horse, these days he'd roll in driving a Mercedes Benz". So I spent less time watching it and more time chatting to Kirsty (housemate), who's still looking for a job so good luck to her.
After that I tidied my room up (finally).. found a few remnants from the house party a fortnight ago.. mostly alcohol and make up related! Suprise suprise..
Today is moving day at work, we're moving offices from our heating-less, aircon-less office in Covent Garden to a proper 8 storey office just down the road. It'll mean my journey is 5 minutes less (thats 5 extra minutes in bed), but it also means I can't swan around in jeans anymore. So I need to buy myself some stylish trousers.. and maybe some cool new shirts. That can be Christmas presents from people (hint :p). I'm gonna take that dress code and add a little bit of Robbie style to it. It'll probably end up looking ridiculous but hey!
Tonight I'm meeting up with Drew after work for a few drinks (i think we finish at 4 today!) then we're joining Natalie and a couple of her friends and going to an Indie club (Camden Palace/KoKo). I've actually never been to an Indie night, except maybe student night at the Cookie Club, so it should be interesting.
Then tomorrow there's no football training, so it's a nice lie in, then heading out to see Less Than Jake, Dropkick Murphys & The Living End at Brixton Academy. Meeting up with Punk Nick, Rob Saggs, Libby and co beforehand at around 6:00 in The Goose i think. Should be brilliant, haven't seen LTJ for.. erm.. a few months.
Sunday will be spent fixing my woprkmates computer, which is 95% done now.. just need to screw in the hard drive and floppy drives. Oh, and the CD/DVD drives. And sort out her windows folders a bit. She's picking it up in the afternoon so I may be getting up early. Eek.
Ha, I've just found my favourite T shirt under my desk as I was clearing up. Ace! Current Mood: excited Current Music: none

November 9th, 2006
04:12 pm - New Journal - Life Update Work is bizarre at the moment. Two weeks ago they started a massive restructure of the whole department, which meant 90% of people lsot their jobs, and have to reapply for new jobs in the new structure. My job in the new structure has a bit more responsibility, and a bit more pay, so I'm going to have an interview for that. Unfortuantely they've said that our ability in the job counts for nothing, its all based on the interview, so it's possible that someone who's never done the job before could snatch it from right under my nose if they get lucky at the interview. I've also applied for a separate job to do with finance and payments, which is fairly IT based, so I should be good at that. Ultimately I want to move into a more IT based role, even a development job, but I want to do it in my own time, not be forced into it early because I don't have a job. Mainly because Christmas is the worst time of year to look for jobs - I'd rather wait till April/May when the market is better.
So we're being told the day before (!!) whether we have an interview the next day or not, so today I'm hoping that it's not tomorrow, as I want a nice relaxing Friday. Next week would be best, it gives me all Sunday to prepare some more, and go over some example questions, etc. I've got all the knowledge and experience required for both jobs, it's just a matter of getting it out in the actual interview.
Anyway, what else is new sicne I last updated? Well I've moved out of the parents' house in Essex, and into a beautiful three floor house in Docklands, with a private beach, ornamental lake, and Sky TV in three rooms. Rent is £110 per week, a bit much, but it's thoroughly worth it. Anyone is welcome to come over and crash when they want, I'm pretty sure I owe Mark/Ange/Matt for all the times I've crashed at theirs in the last three years.
My last entry was telling of my new computer and girlfriend - well both are still with me, coming up to our 9 month anniversaries. I doubt I'll celebrate with my computer though.
I've lost about half a stone in weight, and converted a bit of that beer belly to muscle. I'm still playing football twice a week (I'm now top scorer!), and pool too, as much as I can. I'm going to start going for runs again round Canary Wharf, as it's rather beautiful (and has street lights, unlike my old village in Essex).
I got a Sitar for my birthday, to add to my Tabla, and I jam with my housemates on them, usually when a little drunk but still.
Other than that I'm still the same Robbie, albeit with a little longer hair, less spiky more messy. And a mini beard! Current Mood: Tired
